Ling Sen Tong is a Taoist cave temple that was built in 1967 which is located at the foot of limestone hill in Ipoh. This cave temple is located just right next to Nam Thean Tong and Sam Poh Tong. Ling Sen Tong is full of colourful statues of animals, Buddhism and Taoist Goddesses, and characters from Chinese mythology.

What To Do In Ling Sen Tong
In Ling Sen Tong, you are allowed to burn incense so it is a proper worship to deities. You will see the inner of the cave ceiling has been stained black by the smoke of uncountable incense.
You can visit the “Wishing Pond” in Ling Sen Tong just to make your wish by tossing your lucky coins. If you still remain single like me, you wouldn’t want to miss crossing the “Marriage Bridge”. No harm trying since it does not cost any penny crossing the bridge.

Lata Kinjang is one of the highest waterfalls in South East Asia as the whole falls total 850 m in height. It can be seen very well from the North-South highway. It is located at a small town named Chenderiang and approximately 22 kilometers from Kampar. It’s name originated from ‘kinjang’ which means deer in English.
There were few shops selling things, therefore do not worry if you forgot to bring the towels, or clothes. There also got few facilities such as car parks, toilets, and hawker stalls. All the basic things are there.
What To Do In Lata Kinjang
There are two parts to this waterfall. The first is a mild cascade with water flowing over large rocks. Many would like to slide down the rocks but that is not advisable. The shallow dipping pool here is suitable for children under the close watch of adults.During hot weather,, this waterfall is the hotspot for visitors to take a dip in the cool water pool formed by the waterfall.

Kellie’s Castle is unique,unfinished and ruined and was named after its owner William Kellie Smith who was a Scottish planter. It was believed the castle is a gift to his wife, Agnes.
The castle initially featured a 6-storey tower, an interior tennis court, an rooftop courtyard, a wine cellar, the mansion would have Malaya’s (Malaysia) first elevator in the 6-storey tower. The castle consists of Scottish, Moorish, and Tamilvanan Indian architecture.
The Kellie’s Castle construction stopped when Smith died from pneumonia in Lisbon. The castle was left abandoned before Malaysia government took over to turn it into a tourist attraction.
Kellie’s Castle, rumored to be one of the top five scariest places in Malaysia. There have been many rumors or myths spread about the castle that there are “spirits” of workers who died during the construction and during World War II. Quite a number of visitors claim to have seen the spirit of Smith at the balcony of the castle.

Sam Poh Tong (三寶洞), is the oldest cave temple in Ipoh, Perak. According to legend this cave temple was discovered in 1890 by a monk from China who found and decided the cave to be a place to stay and meditate. The monk stayed there for the next 20 years until his death. Till today, nuns and monks who dedicate their lives to Buddha still live in Sam Poh Tong.
Sam Poh Tong is a place of worship. It is a free entry but visitors can make voluntary offerings at the donation booth.
You will see a few hawkers selling water spinach for you to feed tortoise and fish pellets to feed fishes.

Back in a time when visitors could go up the staircase with 246 steps to the peak and enjoy the mesmerizing views of Ipoh! but sadly, the staircase remains locked to this day.

As you walk through a passageway that cuts across the cave, it will lead you to the feeding tortoise area. Beware monkeys at the temple area.
Visitors are not allowed to climb to the top of the temple.
Make sure you walk through the passageway and you will find the tortoise pond.
Do expect many visitors during weekend or public holidays. Please take note that there will be loaded with people who come to temple’s columbarium to pay respects to their ancestors during Ching Ming, Tomb-Sweeping Day (one of the cultural festival).

Perak Tong Cave Temple or Perak Tong (霹雳洞)is one of the main attractions to visit in Ipoh, Malaysia. This cave temple was developed in 1926 by Chong Sen Yee and his wife Choong Chan Yoke from the Jiao-Ling province of China. It was built into a limestone hill, it is quite a unique Buddhist temple to visit. It became popular for its fascinating murals and panoramic views.

Climbing Time: 9am to 4pm (You are not allowed to climb up the peak of the cave temple after 4pm)
Perak Cave Temple is a free entrance but visitors are welcome to donate during their visit since it is a place of worship. There will be an elderly lady sitting on a chair at the access staircase entrance collecting voluntary donations.
There are sufficient parking lots in the temple, from time to time you can expect to see some guys be around at the parking area to guide you while you park your car which you don’t really need and they will be collecting “tips” or fees from you. But the good thing is they do not demand a certain amount from you, like those in many public parking areas. To avoid trouble you can just pay a little “fee” to them.

Once you enter the temple you will see the 40-feet tall gold Buddha statue. There are more than 40 Buddha statues. In the temple there are many colourful murals and Chinese calligraphy from the masters on the walls of the cave.

Besides that, the Perak Cave Temple is a good spot for some workout if you accept the challenge of climbing the staircase that is approximately 450-500 steps leading to the peak of the cave temple. Elders and those who are not suitably advised do not climb. When you reach the peak, do expect to see the breath taking of mountain views and also the industrial area beneath.
You can stroll at the landscaped garden which is located in front of the temple. It is a nice garden but compared to the one at the Sam Poh Tong Cave Temple would be much fascinating.
